I found this gold coin melted onto a pendant, can anyone tell me if it is authentic?

Can't find that coin-token-medallion on any search I've done, sofar. Thinking it's a souvenir pendant???

nice piece of gold....like snoopy I am unable to locate that particular souvinir piece.there are dozens of similar tho.def.not an issued coin like snoopy said.

I will try to get a picture of the back of the coin if that will help. My mil had a ring melted and the coin embedded. She has a pic of the back but not on her cpu so it might take awhile to get the pic. Thanks for your help tho.

It appears to be a token commemorating Hernan Cortes' 1519 Expedition to Mexico. Also his conquest of Tenochtitlan and it's ruler Montecsuma Xocoyotzin II.
