When back today to the place I found my plate and all the sling buckles and adjusters, and everything but the sword hanger.. The keeper was about 50 yards from were I found the plate.. Its funny the plate was only about 4inch down. This keeper was way down, every bit of 9 or 10 inch, in hard dry soil..
I was almost as happy as when I found the plate.
So after 150 years give or take they are back together again, and they are appreciated to say the lest!!
Thought you guys would like this.
Thanks for looking George

Hi - I was out of town for a week.....Great job on finding all of the pieces and they look great together in the display. You may want to flip the keeper around if you are going to display them like that. Congrats on an excellent set of finds.

Glad you were able to track her down George. Looks great in the display case next to its twin. BTW - are you taking the Pope out detecting this weekend?? Maybe he can at least point you in the right direction ....

I offered, but it seems he way to busy..lol
Thanks Bill.

Vino strikes again!

Nice work... and persistence!

dang to get the whole rig is rare --look for the numbers on it they should 'match' proof that they are a set...

I beg to differ about the bench numbers. The matching set I found had mismatched bench numbers, and it was not from a battlefield. It was from a house site, so they most certainly went together.

Thanks, same thing!
The keeper has 318, but the plate dont have any numbers. Found at a house site.

WTG! Really nice save.

with all the gear together in the same general spot --its the matng part no doubt -- that was used with it during the war ... a great find ...the "numbered" keeper might be a replacement one issued during the war ,,,or one where only the "keeper" was numbered..not both pieces---in some cases both pieces are numbered and match ---100% iron clad proof that they are a "mated set" without a doubt --but I have 0 doubt that your is not a set ..

Amazing relic and a great save for sure!!! Congrats!!! :occasion14:

Very excited for you to have found all the pieces. Wish I could have been there to share the excitement!!! Your persistence paid off with a beautiful matching complete set.
