I found that a $5 detector beat my $250 one???

for fun I bought a $5 detector from the local supermarket. I was amazed to find that it picked up my heater from about 1 1/2 feet away! and it can get a blip of sound on a quarter at 8" where mine only blips at 6" I was quite shocked. The thing weighs like a half pound, and even has a waterproof coil, I think ill go back and pick up a few more for the kids. Lastly whats the best detector I can afford at under $299? thanks, db

I called the local supermarket again and asked who might have some. I called another schnucks and they had 3. Im thinking of going to get them. I mean its not like this is the best machine ever for only $5 but it will get those kids off my back while I detect and keep one in every trunk just in case. And it did find junk in my yard after I thought it was surely clear of anything within range of my other $350 detector, so it is going in my arsenal regardless. If anyone really wants one of these I might send you one for cost. Let me know, also if anyone ordered that one off the foreign site how much is that one total anyways? just curious. HH

I went back and looked at the Tinyurl.com site that you posted, and it is NOT the same junk that I bought from Harbor Freight. Yours is very different. 8) interesting

yeah its an all metal rig but something funny happened, it wouldnt exactly pick up handcuffs? untill I got really close, I suppose its what the metal its made of or something. Also it really likes to pick up round things, its very light but again this thing is really short I mean it needs like 6" more inches of shaft to be even slightly comfortable for an adult over 5' if anyone wants one of these for a kid or something let me know soon with a private mail or something and ill pick a few up on the way home from work or whatever.
