Re: I found my first Metal Detector, not the one I wanted but I aint complaining

does the volume threshold mean how loud it gets? when I turn it up or down with or without headphones it seems to be the same level.. which is pretty loud but not too loud... also the little switch on the bottom for pinpointing feels a bit loose? I heard to keep it in the middle but its hard to tell where that is.. wondering if I should take it to whites to get it tested or to my local shop here.. took it out to a totlot with bark chips for 20 mins today, didnt find anything but had a lot of signals, most seemed to be big rocks, not sure if its some minerals or what.. but last night i found 2 crushed cans and a magnet in my backyard so I think it might do better in grass.. gonna take it out to a field tomorrow and see what I can find... also whats the best way to cypher through the digs? just dig a hole then check it or check the plug you digged and sorta shake it out? sorry im so new at this and starting with a advanced machine lol...Thinking the tesoro compadre may be better for a beginner like me?

I'm not sure if you saw my post above. There are videos on the White's site that show how to use the machine. Those helped me immensely when I was trying to learn to use my mxt.
