I was out metal detecting today and found this lock . Keystone 3 Lever. plane 007.JPG Than i see something ahead of me and go to investigate .

Any one have a clue what it is as i don't see a name on it just the prop says Graupner cam folding prop 33-18 & 13-7".
I had to quit and bring it home.
The ends of the wings pull out and a wire connection unplugs so i was able to get it in the trunk .

The wing span is 95 inches and the length is 44 inches. Someone is very unhappy .plane 004.JPGplane 010.JPGIf you know this plane and value let me know.

How is it propelled?

I don't think it was propelled. Lol

Looks like an electric plane to me, check and see if there is a trap door somewhere near the front of the fuselage, there is probably a battery in there.

I fly rc planes and this one was meant for sailing way up HIGH! I would also check and see if there is a RC field nearby, they only have a range of around one mile tops before
losing radio contact.

How is it propelled?
I haven't had time to look it over but i would guess it is battery powered with an electric motor.
It might have solar power .
I will see if i can open it near the front. It has tape over the area that looks like an access area .
I will post it tomorrow if i find out whats inside.

This is an electric powered sailplane. It flies very high and catches thermals much like vultures do. It can stay in the air for a long time and is remote controlled via radio. It will have micro servos inside to control the flight surfaces a radio receiver and the motor and a battery. Someone is not happy about losing it. There is probably an RC plane field somewhere near, although it could have flown a bit if the pilot lost control. I'm sure they would love it back. Oh, and it is not solar powered. Battery inside.

That's a cool find some kid saved for a bit to buy that.

That is a good looking plane...somebody may have lost radio control! :occasion14:

There could be a name with contact info inside.

Beat me to it.

Should be pretty easy to locate as there aren't too many people that fly RC....I think.

Electric glider. The electric motor gets the thing up high until the battery quits. After that, it's flown as a glider. Gary

Congrats rodgerdodger! Incredible find!

Good luck on finding the owner, or not!

I contacted one of the RC flying clubs and he thought it might be an other club that lost it. He couldn't remember there name .
He also told me to open it and inside the owner puts the name and to unhook the battery.
I opened it and no name and unhooked the battery.
I'm still looking for the owner so i will keep trying.
