I Found a Brass Cannon Barrel Flintlock Pistol!!!, Beautiful Gilt Button & More!!!

I had a GREAT hunt Saturday & found something that is near the top as far as my best finds go! I found an 18th century flintlock pistol!!! It has a brass "cannon" barrel & is considered a "box lock". These are sometimes referred to as boot or muff pistols. My buddy Chuck & I stumbled onto a small house site in the woods & this was right by the pile of rocks from the chimney, not even an inch deep! Just think of the stories it could tell! I haven't been able to track down the exact gun, any help would be great (it does have a maker's mark). I found a second piece to the gun & didn't realize it until cleaning my finds today. I also found a beautiful gold gilt 2 piece button & some other common house-related relics. Great day for sure! 1_flintlock.pngives_kendrick_button.png2_flintlock.png3_flintlock.png4_side_view_missing_side_flint.pngflintinside.png6_flintlock.pngtoe_aps.pngcostume.pngmisc_crap1.pngmisc_crap.png

I'm not sure but that one mark might be a British proof mark. They filled the barrel with 3 times the amount of powder and if it did not blow up they would put that proof mark on them. But that is just from a quick gander at the mark. How about some REALLY good close-up pictures of the marks please? I'm not recognizing any British marks. But they are a bit skewed by rust and scale. Possibly Spanish?

I love finding gun parts and that would be the grail of gun parts for me! Exceptional find!

It's old, and has a big "cool factor".
Would love to have one similar in my display.
I'd vote banner, but there is no need, seems finds get there lately without a single one (vote), I kind of expect this will too.

Really a GREAT job on the photos as well. The photos and text make it look like a high end book about your collection.
