I DON'T KNOW WHAT THIS IS?

I am new to "Prospecting for Gold & Gems"and I am fortunate to have a friend that allows me to wonder around his land out in Snow Camp NC. His land is known to have gold, gems that have been found years ago, he is older and can't get out with me like he wants to because of his bad back, but he really gets excited when I come to him at the end of the day and show him what I have dug up. I been reading up on all of these quartz rocks and gems, but it's always nice to hear other people who have much experience then I have and I feel I learn so much more. I have these rock crystals that are deep red, light red and some mixed with white and red in them. Here is what I found today. What would this be?

Yeah, I have a "Apple Ipod Classic Touch" that I use to take pictures, it use to do real good, but it's been a year and a half of good use and it's time for a new one.

I saw a special last weekend where they are finding emeralds over there. If you pick up anything green, keep it

A TreasureNet member using the name "Dustedyou" seems to be a Minerals expert in the mining industry. He posted an open invitation for T-Net members to show photos of their unidentified rocks for him to identify. I suggest you go to the following T-Net link, and post your photos along with their size-measurements and info about the state-&-town area you found them at.
