Metal Detecting
It's been a little too hot for me to do any serious detecting. Yesterday I only found a single Rosie dime, but did I get to see 7 police cars converge on a place across the street from where I was detecting. I watched the news that night to see what it was about. They didn't cover that story, but they covered another one where a guy got shot at an intersection. The news reporter was standing right where I parked my car earlier this year to do some curb strips nearby. I'm glad that I don't live in Memphis, I just metal detect there.

Today, I didn't do so hot even though I got to detect a 1920's home. This is the second time recently that I've hit a old house didn't find any silver coins. At the time when I found it I didn't realize that it was sterling silver, so I just threw it into my finds pouch. When I got home, I took a closer look with a magnify glass. I don't know what is. Whatever the ferrous piece in the middle was has rusted away. Maybe a pipe cleaner???

I am glad that you re alive and found sterling silver money clip!

You did well today! :occasion14:

Well done on sniffing out the silver. Memphis is tough, a seven police car response isn't newsworthy unfortunately. I was stationed out in Millington for a couple of years and was really surprised how much violence there was in Memphis.

That is a neat find. Awesome that it is silver. Looks like its too small to be a cigar cutter IMO.
More like cigarette cutter? Gangster Roach Clip perhaps?

Looks like some nice finds Tabman. Time to start wearing your Kevlar vest when you detect ?

Too small of a hole.

Nice variety of finds. congrats
Thanks!

Thanks! I don't think a money clip would have a loop for a keyring.

Thanks! I had goodtime and that's what counts.

Thanks! They're turning what used to be super nice areas to raise a family into hoods. Nothing but a bunch of animals bred and raised by Dems for votes! There are places in Memphis at night the even the police won't go without backup. I'm sick of it.

Thanks! I was thinking roach clip, but then again it looks too old for that.

I can't believe the moderator has not pulled down this thread. Your fellow citizens are not animals breed by Democrats. Seems to me someone else made a similar statement recently and paid for it. Maybe you took ambian before you posted

I used to live in Little Rock and Memphis was known for it's violence. Kind of like Pueblo is known for its violent crimes per capita in Colorado.Glad you found some goodies in the city. I just don't hunt in the cities anymore.

Go to Memphis at night and venture off Beale street. Then try and find ONE PERSON that considers himself your “fellow citizen”. Choice of words might not have been the best but if the sun is down in that town, you’d better be on Beale street.

Good finds. And yes Memphis is a dangerous place. I think it made it in the top 10 deadliest cities list. Sad.
