What I like best about metal detecting is finding stuff like this and how it "ignites" my imagination. In this post, the metal stake and the horseshoe (the one with similar rust patterns), I found detecting in Monterey, Ca. The other two shoes were found in the first municipal park in the state of California. Thoughts 0f the Spanish, Californios, or the cowboys after them come to mind. Well, thanks for looking. Dan
