I.D. help needed

[Pa.Billy]

I found this at a late 1800's early 1900's house foundation last week. thanks in advance for any help you can give me identifying it.

Is it hollow, like a nozzle of some sort? If not it looks like a bottle topper or similar.

Looks like a piece of machinery, with a belt running through/around the top groove.

no there are no holes through it,completely solid all around.The sides have no sharpness to them,it is rounded and about an 1/8 of a inch thick The tip is about 1/4 inch wide.

Jeff,are talking about a wrought iron fence sort of ? This foundation was out in the sticks in the poor ravaged pa hills :-) I doubt houses had fences around or in front of them.

The groove around the round part makes it look like there was a leather or rubber "O" ring around it for sealing. It may be off of an old Iron steam radiator ( Pressure relief valve)

that's a good question cypress,no it doesn't look like it's been broken off.I do see some brass color around that groved area.
