I bought a turtle today at a yard sale.

It may be considered an invasive species in South Fla.
No, humans are the invasive specie. Alligators are keystone species vital to the Everglades and all the wetland ecosystems where it lives. The exotic reptiles and large snakes roaming wild down here... those are the invasive species.

What are the eyes made out of? Uranium glass?
Looks like vaseline glass marbles. I have a similar head with marble eyes but they don't glow.

I was talking about the turtle.

We have wild and domestic turtles in NY that look similar to this called Painter turtles.

Some of those turtles are illegal to sell in KS. Somebody got busted in western KS last fall. I don't know what type they were but they cited the E. Coli problem.

I washed mine off with soap and water so it should be alright!

lol. Whoops!

I don't think the turtle is though either. It's a common turtle.
It wasn't common 50 years ago, think about the snakes you're dealing with down there, in 50 years they'll be considered common. Those darn feral pigs in the south are going to be a nightmare.

That is so cute! I saved a baby snapping turtle once that got stuck in our garage.I raised it for a while until he was able to make it on his own. I really enjoyed having him as a pet!
