Wow! What a beautiful preserved piece of US history. Congratulations.

Fantastic find and in great condition! Still on my bucket list... it's at the top!!! Huge congrats!

Dang brother, sweet buckle and it even has all the hooks! Its a good day!

Steve

is there a difference between paw and arrow hooks?

Keystone - Where you see the two identical hooks on the back, yours are shaped like little arrowheads. Hence, "arrowhead hooks." A puppy paw has oval stand-offs instead of arrowheads. It looks a little like the footprint of a puppy. "Puppy paw" buckles are earlier production and generally have fatter letters (on the front). Here's one I found last year.

Here's one with leather still attached, I found in damp red clay.

Notice the fatter letters:

And I forgot to say - EXCELLENT find, and GORGEOUS condition! Well done.

Yours, with the leather attached, is incredible. Plates to me are fairly common, but not with the leather attached. Also thanks for the explanation of hook types. I found a box plate last year and I think it had the fat letters.

Congrats on the awesome finds! Banner for sure IMO!

Nice find, but it's a bit unusual to see the OP self-declare his find to be a "Banner Find" in the title of the post :laughing7::dontknow:

Great find on that buckle. Congratulations

I apologize to everyone that I offended for putting banner in my title. it wasn't my intention to self proclaim my fines, but it was my intention to get people to see my fines, cuz its not everyday you find a US belt buckle in this shape plus I was stoked

Lol. My point was they're not uncommon. There are three posted in "today's finds" this week. I've personally only found one (and a half).

Steve

That's one beautiful buckle.
Congrats on an amazing find.

+1 on the banner vote.
