I am wondering what this pewter coin is and how much it is worth?

Well, it's not a coin....
better pics, front and back, along with your general location, where dug, details, etc....
You may find a few experts on here that may tell that's an old Rev War button, or something along those lines...

Hi; It is NOT a coin. It is a Rev War Continental Army 3rd Regimental Uniform Coat Button. Great Find in great shape. Value is $100 - $150 ok. PEACE:RONB

Well, from Barkers knowledge, and from what I've seen on the interweb.... you got better than a coin. Congrats.
Oh, and welcome to Tnet.

Definitively a Revolutionary War military button. The back donates an American made button. But I believe it is a 3rd South Carolina button. Very rare. Great save. They are around, but not plentiful like the Civil War buttons. The 3rd Continental Line buttons are normally found way up north, hence the SC designation.

That is a great find. I have searched along coastal Georgia and never found anything that great! I would love to find one of those. Or a slave tag; always dreaming of a slave tag.

I have had two of the 3rd SC in my collection before. I still have one. Took years to get them. There are more Rev buttons out there and available right now than I've ever seen before.
