I am starting to see this in garage sale ads..

The local goodwill was setting out some jewelry sat, I went to look and the lady laughed. She said now days, anything even looking close to real was sent to corporate to be checked out for melt. Oh well, they can;t catch it all. :laughing7:
Thanks for the help Dan, I worked out a deal I was happy with, with a local coin dealer. Cash and Morgans. :tongue3:

No jewelry or gold

Towards the end of the season, seemed like every garage sale I went to they were talking about "Tons of people asking for jewelry"

Sadly I can't answer this since I live in Northern NY and haven't seen a garage sale add for 2 1/2 months now :(

15 years ago or so almost every garage sale around here had marbles....(marble factories in the area...and many jobs there)......now ---not so much..

I don't know what it's like over in the US. but over here they are advertising on t.v. to people who wan't to sell their gold. People who are going thru hard times are selling alot of their gold jewelry.

Same here .U., and they don't pay well, but people must be going since they keep advertising.

Been 2 1/2 days for me. Spent a full $2 ;D

I've noticed the ads down here too. But it's to be expected in the cesspool of humanity where I reside. Everybody is on the bandwagon it seems. I've heard and talked to people who are having sales that people actually show up at their houses days before the day of the sale trying to get first dibs on stuff. I've noticed (on Craigslist) some people saying that the address will be posted on Friday night or on the morning of the sale.
I caught a guy stealing a watch a couple weeks ago. I told the homeowner about it. They didn't know what to do about it, I told them to call the cops but they didn't and actually acted like they were scared to even say something to the guy. Needless to say I got verbal with the thief and his wife and teenage son (yes it was a family affair) and threatened to call the cops myself. The boy ran his mouth a little and then they got in their car and hauled azz out of there. Last week another thief/scammer tried the old "I gave you a twenty dollar bill not a five" trick, trying to scam the little old lady (who was already nervous) out of a few bucks. Fortunately I saw the transaction and jumped down his throat (so to speak) and defended the woman and basically called him a liar and a thief. Others started applauding afterwards. He left with his tail between his legs.
Some people are scum and I will step in whenever I see something that aint right. I can't wait to move outta here. Only a couple more years and i'm moving back to America. Only someone who actually lives here can understand that one and it has nothing to do with race and more to do with being a human being with a conscience and moral integrity.
