Jo,
Thanks for the kind words, much appreciated.
Now lets find the heirs to "H. Jackson, '15 ".
I'll guess Jackson is a male since females were not admitted to Harvard Law School (HLS) until 1950 though I'd keep open the possibility that Jackson was a female and didn't get into the Signet Society through HLS or Harvard University. Your research should find him on the rolls of the Society in that year. It's likely the " '15 " commemorates his year of admittance to that society. Ask if they have his obituary or last known address. Be a persistent sleuth--as your time permits. I have faith that you'll find an heir. If not, you may wish to 'surrender' the artifact to the school along with your story of how it was found.
Don....

Mid 50s old? ...Old is when you wish you were in your mid 50s! Ahhh, those were the good old days!

Hey, Hey, I said I am older! Not necessarily old! What a pleasure to find your message. My mind is questionable at times, and not quite 12 anymore....... could be because of my "earlier" years having too much fun! Now physically, that is another problem.... I look forward to 57 for sure. I hope I am as sharp as you are. Hope your New Year has started well. Jo

Everyone bear with me now, I am new at this. I am trying to reply to the responses in order, but this you see, is a little problem for me. May I be blessed to look back and say these 50's were the good old days! Thank you for that..... Smile to my face this morning... Thank you for the note.... Jo

Haha! I plan on it, I really do.... glad to know I am not alone.... Thanks for the message. Jo

Jo, I am bummed that you think mid 50s is "old" I recently turned 57 but I still have the mind of a 12 year old... lol Welcome to the site. Great bunch of folks here.

I had an appointment and had to rush this morning, but you have really made my day! Everyone here is so nice!:hello:

I just want to say to all the old fogies out there that I am proud to be a part of your group now. I appreciate all of you! Jo

Don, I am going to keep you posted. I also appreciate the knowledge that females were not admitted to Harvard Law School until 1950. I feel I am going to learn so much from everyone here that my brain will hurt eventually. (A good thing). I really appreciate all you have done. I am confident to find an heir. Thanks Don

Hello Jo! I am not sure if you managed to get in contact with anyone currently at the Signet Society or if you were able to figure out who H. Jackson '15 was. My name is Julia. I am an undergraduate at Harvard and a current member of the Signet Society. I found your post while doing historical research online and would love to be in touch, if this is something you are still interested in finding out –*I would love to help figure out the origins of this medal! (Of course, this thread hasn't been updated in a long time, and I'm not sure if you were able to get in touch with someone to figure out what you wanted to know back in 2014 –*or if you are even still checking for updates to this thread...) If you're interested in talking more, please let me know :) Julia

Hello Julia,
I don't know if 'Jo' is still monitoring Treasurenet posts, but if he is and you two chat and there is still need for additional research, please let me know if I can help.
Don...

Julia,

According to his profile Jo Smith hasn't been logged onto this site since 01/02/2014.

Basically a "one hit wonder".

Different ways to start "thread" to ask a question, we would need to know what your using to access the forum, computer, smartphone, tablet?
