Sorta looks like a .32 cal Hopkins and Allen spur trigger revolver, probably from the 1870'ish era.
But then again, I could be totally wrong.

Was that dug back in 2005 as the date on the photographs suggest?

Those are often called boot pistols. Is it a five shot or six?

There is a name for that type of trigger but I forget. It could help with the search.

the type of trigger is called a "spur" trigger -- these smallish "pocket / boot pistol" type guns 5 and 6 shot early rimfire and later on centerfire cartridge type models in both 22 and 32 caliber were quite common in the early cartridge pistol days post civil war - (say 1870's up to the early 1930's or so) * they were widely used as "up close" personal self defense guns

they were thought of as the "saturday night special" of that era .

there were many many differant makers of these cheap lil hand guns -- the basic design and look is fairly close -- on most of em, its the little details that will tip off exact who made which one (if your lucky) your seems fairly well intact except for the grips ( most likely wood that rotted away )

That is a really cool pistol, as others have said, there were so many different makers of that style gun it will be really hard to identify unless you can find some markings on it. I'll chime in a guess of Merwin and Hulbert, they made a lot of that style gun in the late 1800's early 1900's.

As far as it being loaded, I wouldn't worry about it too much, it should be just fine to display. I would clean off any loose rust, and spray a coat of urethane on it.

An example of how cheap these single action revolvers were. Sears sold a .22 Liberty revolver for $1.05 in 1909. Those were the good old days when many had guns but couldnt afford the ammo. You need to use electrolysis to preserve.

Re: I am new here..I found a loaded pistol thats prob late 1800's early 1900s

yep 1.05 for the 7 shot 22 and 19 cents for 100 rounds of 22 "short" ammo --total cost for the whole thing 1 dollar 24 cents (plus shipping cost ) --about a day and a quarters wages --many folks made $1 a day for wages back then

north american arms to this day still makes a "mini revovler" $180 --a 5 shot 22 short --single action with a slot safety -- all 5 rounds are put in the the cylinder and is turned 1/2 way to the safety slot --- between each bullet hole in the cylinder there is a ' safety notch"so the guns hammer does not 'rest" on the rimfire round while "carrying" -- the hammer is lowered into the "notch" for safe carrying --when the hammer is cocked back for firing the cylinder rotates the bullet into firing position to fire--for the the next round , cock the hammer back squeeze trigger repeat till empty -- to reload one must remove the whole cydlinder by taking out the center "rod" -putting ammo in the cylinder and then replacing it and replacing the rod (a rather slow process) -- but for 5 easy to carry "up close" shots its great lil "pocket" gun.
