After five and a half months in the Middle East, I am coming home. Net result: a promotion, a few pounds heavier, a few more medals, a little more money, and a whole lot older. If all goes according to plans, I should be home by the end of the month. That said, the wife and I are taking off on a trip to see some of the family. Bottom line, I’ll be in my hometown of Mt. Juliet, TN (outside of Nashville) from the 5th of Aug thru the 11th of Aug and in the wife's hometown of Topeka, KS from the 11th Aug of thru the 16th Aug. If anyone from around those areas would like to get together and MD while I am in town, I would appreciate it. I primarily relic hunt. Civil War is my favorite but I also love old churches and homes. I’ll also be in Biloxi, MS the 1st thru the 5th of Aug but that time is dedicated to making up for lost time with the wife and the black jack dealer. ;D (ha ha)

Welcome Home!!! Those of us who are true Americans salute you and all like you, without whom we would not be able to enjoy even the simplest of life's daily treasures, like this forum! Here is a small token of my personal appreciation that I wrote several years ago for some friends of mine who were then on their way to the Gulf War. Hope you enjoy, as I dedicate this to ALL members of our nation's Armed Forces.

The Flag

She was born over two hundred years ago of a few small stripes and stars.
She has flown high above this land and has been the enemy in many wars.

The blood did flow and many lives were lost but, for her freedom this is the cost.
She waves gracefully in the breeze all tattered and torn, but she is the most beautiful sight, no matter how old or worn.

Men have praised her and men have burned her, all men have the same rights, that?s what she stands for.
I?ll be there whenever she calls and I will die before she falls
But, if she should fall after I die, I hope she lands right where I lie.

(For my friends going off to war)

As for coming to Biloxi - GREAT. Maybe we can meet. Don't expect to do much detecting, though! The beaches were scraped and then re-covered by at least 12-14 inches of new sand after TS Cindy and we are now waiting for Hurricane Dennis to slap us around. What damage he does remains to be seen. But, I guess we will see very soon!

The first thing you need to do, is to get reacquainted with your wife and family again! There will be time for everything else after that ;).

SALUTE!

Welcome home Chief! And thank you for serving our great nation! And another to the wife for giving up her time with you!
