I addicted to vinyl.

I graduated high school in the mid 80's, Van Halen was king then and I have always liked the older VH. :headbang: They came to about 70 cents each album. cant go wrong at those prices.
Zappa is one of my favorites and I never see any Zappa vinyl, I was shocked and a uncommon one to boot.
Franks guitar on po jama people off 'one size fits all' will leave you speechless.

Franks guitar on practically everything he did is worth a listen :laughing7:
it always seems to stop before the end though, I usually want it to go on,
& on, and On, And he always looked like he could lie down, & take a Rest while playing :laughing7: no strain at all. except when it wwas part of the show of course.

I liked Van Halen's first album, But lost interest after.
their second album maybe had 2 or 3 good tracks that I liked.

FWIW, I've trashed a bunch of vinyl over the past years.

Anything in horrid condition, easy listening, and anything that has sat in one of my flea market booths for more than a year, goes mostly to the trash. I separate the sleeves and jacket from the vinyl, toss those into the paper recycling bin, and the vinyl goes to the trash can.

the Cover work alone on some of that Early Stuff Is worth saving

The vinyl train is leaving the station but there is still room to board.

I would say 10 years ago, people were indeed throwing away boxes of vinyl. It was only audiophiles and hipsters who listened to it. I remember a small used CD store that had boxes of the stuff that people would give them. The store would take what they wanted for the employees and then throw the rest in the dumpster!

Vinyl now is collectible and is growing in popularity. You will see all different types of folks who buy it and listen to it. Gone are the days of being able to find quality LPs for under $1 at any thrift store or flea market. Gone are the days of $5 boxes of vinyl at yard sales filled with Beatles, Stones, etc.

However, there are still deals to be had. I still find vinyl at most of these places but now it has been picked over. I rarely ever find vinyl for anything less than $1 each (often it is $2 each or individually priced). I buy vinyl in bulk any chance I get for a reasonable amount of $.

45s seem to be where the money is (although in my own situation, I have not found that to be true). Whenever I sell at the flea market or my own yard sale, the very first thing to go is my vinyl. 45s get picked up instantly and the LPs get sold throughout the day. I separate my vinyl into: "culls" at $1 each, decent but common stuff at $2 each, and everything else is individually priced. I bulk out my modern crappy 45s at 25 cents each because guys who have jukeboxes buy this stuff to fill the slots. Anything rare, sealed, or in pristine mint condition gets sold on ebay. Of course, most of the good stuff never makes it past my own collection. :laughing7:

I passed on about 500 albums last weekend for $100. I have no room to store them. I did pick out about 30 Victrola's though for $5. I still find vinyl all the time down here. Most of it isn't worth buying though, condition (or music) wise. Any time I find an album (personal keeper) in better condition it gets swapped out for one in my collection that isn't as good.
