huntin the mighty Mississippi while it's down

the river is at historic lows, & it seems like a good time to hunt it. But- - - I have this inordinate fear that has been drilled into me since I was a kid about playin around the river. Plus a girl had to be rescued from waist deep mud she got into, & her mom couldn't pull her out. So has anyone hunted it while it's down?

Some historic stuff is under that muck you can believe that. Lots of other nasty stuff too.

Experience there, no. Experience in muddy swamps, yes. (1)Don't go alone and (2)carry a good thick coil of rope along so you can be pulled out of the mud. Be careful. A cell phone with 911 on hand might help too.
