Loomis nickel box 1892 V nickel!!! 1945d war nickel! 1 1939 11 1940's 9 1950's. The V nickel is almost worn slick on the back and has a ring from the coin counter. I think I would be pretty worn down if I was 122 years old so I am not complaining.

Some really nice finds lately Hunter! I found two 1913 Type 1 buffalos last year but I'm still looking for my first V nickel. The V u found is rather slick which is quite common for V nickels but a 1892 is definitely an earlier/better date. And that '37 buffalo is in great condition. And u found a war nickel in each of those boxes too which makes it even better. I got a nickel box myself for the wknd. Hope I can find a little something good. :)

HH!

Thanks Silverface! I hope you find something good! Happy hunting!

Btw, Id sure say that '37 buffalo is at least VF or better. Is the reverse as nice as the obverse? Can u see some of the buffalo horn? That coin looks like it came out of someone's collection recently.

Sorry forgot to post the picture of the reverse. The top half of the horn is worn off, but the bottom half is still visible.

congratulations on a very awesome nickel box, 5 in one box is almost unheard of these days. Also, the 1943D you found is the key date to the war nickels with the lowest mintage... If I were you I'd definitely keep that one (if you intended to sell your other finds) .
go back and get some more nickel boxes from that bank if you can.

I ordered a box for next week, so I hope I have about the same luck with it. I needed the 43d for my set now I just need about 7 more to have a 1938-1961 set. Happy hunting!

Great nickel box! I found a '43D nic myself too about a month ago but I don't remember ever finding 5 silver in one nickel box before. I got a nickel box for the wknd that Im just about to start and I'll be happy if I can just find one or two silver or dated buffalos.

HH!
