When the law caught up with the Wild cowboys south of Caldwell they took refuge in the rundown building called the Last Chance Saloon. It was called that because it was the last chance to buy a drink while going through the Indian territory. The cowboys would not give up so a gun fight took place and the building caught fire and burned down. I have hunted this area before and have found lots of bullets and shells. I have found buttons here but not much else. But that ended today. ;D ;D

PICT0004.JPGLooks like that one bullet is covered with teeth marks.

Well my very first for this old man today. A genuine 2 cent piece 1868. :thumbsup:PICT0006.JPG
PICT0009.JPGCan't get a better picture. Wish it was better condition but still tickled pink to have it.

Thanks for looking.

Stan, great story and great hunt! That 2-center is very cool. . . I'm glad you found it!
There's got to be a LOT of neat things under where the floor was of that saloon.

Happy hunting!

Those finds when you know the history behind them are the best.

WoooHooo on the ol' two center!! ATA-BOY for a fine first Burdie!!!! I've been lucky enough to pull a few of those and they ARE hard to find in good shape! Looks like that one might have been farely close to the fire. 8)

That 2c even looks Singed by the fire!

Wow. :o

Wow! Great finds Stan! Are those larger rim fire cases about .41 caliber? A lot of the old cowboys carried a .41 Rimfire before center fire ammo came out. Monty

Hi Burdie,
Congrats to your finds !
I have a question:
are these cases all Rim Fire ? What caliber?
I thought by that time all were Central Fire ???
Gruss,
Mike
