Damnails and I went back to the property that was the home place of his great grandfather. We've only hunted this a couple times and are just scratching the surface. It's still way too dry but we did ok. I found 6 flat button's, couple buckles and some type of deceptive compact case. He found a flat button and a cool peice off the top of a lightning rod, a rosette, and some odds and ends. All finds will stay with the family. Thanks for looking. Family must go back a ways... you've got some 18th century stuff in there.

Thanks, There are no buildings left but we know about where the house and barn was and it's fun trying to figure things out. This site should get better every trip. Time will tell. We have unlimited access so time is on our side

Awesome stuff--and much more detecting for you to look forward to. -Lisa & John

Good stuff,, always good to have an old place like that. To have unlimited access is great.
Congrats on your finds.

Nice digs, rn. That lightning rod is a real looker. Those buttons and other relics will look great in your display.

Thanks LD. This was my hunting Buddy Damnails, family so he'll keep all the finds. They are going in a separate display for his family to enjoy, once we have enough good stuff to fill the box. There is a family cemetery (his family) on the property that he has fixed back up and is taking care of. There is a lot of family history here so it is nice to add to it if we can.

Awesome, bet they really appreciate that they get all finds and knowing you, it will be an awesome display / s

You two certainly recovered a lot of material from the history of Damnails family.

That's Awesome you giving all your finds to the family.

Great hunt Relic Nut! In case you didn't know, that brass piece to the left of your tombacs is a strap end to a leather valise from the Civil War era. Buckleboy IDed that for me when I found the same one last year. He also has one in his post here http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/2010-annual-finds/212250-iron-brigade-2010-a.html (second photo). Always enjoy an ID on a mystery brass item, so hopefully that isn't old news to you. Looks like a great spot you guys have there.

cool Relics & Nice bunch of Buttons
