I hunted some soybean fields around Sunset, Louisiana close to the area where the Battle of Buzzards Prairie occurred. I didn't dig much just two dropped Sharps Carbines, a chewed on round ball, an artillery frag and the two firsts for me. The middle dropped round I believe, per my McKee and Mason, is identified as a Hazard Army revolver round and the brass item is an epaulette locking key. As I've been told, they were used to lock the epaulette to the catch which was sewn into the shoulder of the uniform blouse.
