Hunted 1700s house. Old broach? Anyway to date?

Found this near chimney of old house site. Looks like it had clasps to hold gems. Back contraption looks very old but I am far from an expert. Hoping I finally broke into 1700 or early 1800s!! Any thoughts?

It reminds me of 15th Century cloak fasteners called fibulas that I have sometimes found in England. Is it bronze?

I wish we had 15the Century relics here but we dont. I believe it's brass rang up 70 on VDI Teknetics T2
