Hunt in the woods near civil war skirmish..? Can you guess these items?

Hey guys

These items are very hard for me to ID and date. I was researching and found there was a skirmish with union and confederate soldiers near my home in FL. Not sure if these fit the timeframe but any help is appreciated.. Any of you brilliant minds able to ID these items?

It would be helpful if you wire brush and wash down the items and get the loose stuff off. Rust can really distort objects.

The spade shaped piece of iron they put on roofs fairly close to the edge. They were very popular on slate roofs.

Agree, and it's probably POST Civil War; as the barrels were clearly separate items...meaning it was a cartridge model and NOT a muzzle loader, as was commonly used at that point in time.
Firearms taking a self contained cartridge during that conflict were few, as it was new technology.

They were designed to help keep the snow and ice from sliding off the roof in large chunks and causing damage to humans and animals.
Some folks refer to them as "snow birds"....no, not the Yankees that winter in Florida. LOL
