Had another great weekend, Saturday decided to try a new lot ive been doing research on for the past year. Morning started great digging a 1917 Mercury than a silver Rosie. Had a hot spot of costume jewelry all within a 5×5 area, a little of everything. The usual wheatie haul. Than finds started drying up and so was I at 11:00 was already over a 100 so decided to have a early start Sunday on the other side. Not 15 minutes in on Sunday I pulled out this Franklin, really rough shape but to me its beautiful, for 20 years hunting this always eluded me. Worked my way into a small area of trees when I got a 87-89 on my Pro but sounded different than a half started diggin down about 6-7inches caught a small glint of silver so cautiously moved dirt by hand. Im like ok rang like a half looks more a dollar than I seen it was way to thin to be a coin, luckily the dirt was semi sandy and super dry so taking it out was easy. I was amazed what I saw. Never seen anything like this and it was in fantastic condition. Still trying to figure the age, but definitely by the craftsmanship it is one of my best finds ever. Rest of the day found more wheats, foreign coin, toy gun and more costume jewelry. Best thing about the hunt I still have about 30% still left to hunt.

Nice haul! I thought it was dollar size until I saw it next to Ben. Dang!
Looks like triple digit temps from here on out, so I may have to get up early like you! Going after work is getting brutal.

Starting at 5 is still only good for couple hours.lol. hey do u recognize the location? Hopefully ill bump into u soon. Think were the only guys in Vegas that detects sometimes.

RayRay , I just got my pin/pendant out to look at it it's almost identical to yours -Mine is almost exactly 2" in diameter - and it has the
sterling and 925 designation on the back - mine also has the bell shaped device with the number in it - this is I think a stylized eagle or
thunderbird motif - notice in yours there is a number- 28 I think -mine has 190 in it, these I believe are production numbers or work shop
numbers . I'm very confident they are mid twentieth century - 50's thru 70's and very likely made in Taxco - the most notable silver
producing region/ area in Mexico . If you do a bit of online research for hallmarks on Mexican silver jewelry - you can be more confident
of the date of production - yours , like mine is also a pin /pendant - very cool find ! I will put up pics when I get the equipment and the
understanding of how to do this .

Thanks for the info, i appreciate it. would love to see yours hopefully u can post it soon. So when and where did you find yours?

Hmm..... How do you sleep at night? with killer finds like that I wouldn't be able to shut my mind off.
Very well done sir, Congrats & HH !!!!

man, you raked in some fantastic finds. congrats!

RayRay , Mine was a hand me down from family members - My mom and her mother took a trip to Mexico in the late sixties/early seventies
got it down there somewhere . As soon as I figure out the card ,and camera ,and computer - I'd be happy to put it up here .

Thanks everyone for your kind replies, I have been really blessed with luck this year with great finds. i can honestly say that my finds definitely increased after my At pro and 5×8 purchase. And with a whole lot of research on some of the areas that I hunt its paid off. Thanks again.

Dang it Ray! You could have your own website (and antique store) with the finds that you "routinely" dig up. What a great haul, congrats! Sub 8-)

Looks like around Rancho or NW area, but not sure. Gotta love the sand vs. the hardpack! Going to hit 108 next week, so mornings look good from here out. I'll keep an eye out for ya! My ETP works much better in the trash and nails than my Explorer did, so I'm hoping to find more silver, but been working 6 or 7 day a week so hunting is sporadic. Save me some crumbs dude, you're vacuuming up all the glitter in the gulch!
(P.S. when we going to hit Binions house?)

Its at Martin Luther and I think Washington, 3 large lots. Studied the area for awhile with historic aerials it helps alot to see where yard, trees and houses once sat. I guess our summers are like the East's harsh winters.. no fun to hunt in. lol. Glad to hear about your ETP working out for you. Actually happend to drive by Binions last week there were security trucks on the property. Would love to be able to find out the current owners and gain permission, that place im sure is full of all sorts of treasure. Also heard of some great road tearouts coming up soon.

Awesome hunt, congrats on your first Franklin! Enjoy hope you find much more!
