Had another great weekend, Saturday decided to try a new lot ive been doing research on for the past year. Morning started great digging a 1917 Mercury than a silver Rosie. Had a hot spot of costume jewelry all within a 5×5 area, a little of everything. The usual wheatie haul. Than finds started drying up and so was I at 11:00 was already over a 100 so decided to have a early start Sunday on the other side. Not 15 minutes in on Sunday I pulled out this Franklin, really rough shape but to me its beautiful, for 20 years hunting this always eluded me. Worked my way into a small area of trees when I got a 87-89 on my Pro but sounded different than a half started diggin down about 6-7inches caught a small glint of silver so cautiously moved dirt by hand. Im like ok rang like a half looks more a dollar than I seen it was way to thin to be a coin, luckily the dirt was semi sandy and super dry so taking it out was easy. I was amazed what I saw. Never seen anything like this and it was in fantastic condition. Still trying to figure the age, but definitely by the craftsmanship it is one of my best finds ever. Rest of the day found more wheats, foreign coin, toy gun and more costume jewelry. Best thing about the hunt I still have about 30% still left to hunt.
