Had another great weekend, Saturday decided to try a new lot ive been doing research on for the past year. Morning started great digging a 1917 Mercury than a silver Rosie. Had a hot spot of costume jewelry all within a 5×5 area, a little of everything. The usual wheatie haul. Than finds started drying up and so was I at 11:00 was already over a 100 so decided to have a early start Sunday on the other side. Not 15 minutes in on Sunday I pulled out this Franklin, really rough shape but to me its beautiful, for 20 years hunting this always eluded me. Worked my way into a small area of trees when I got a 87-89 on my Pro but sounded different than a half started diggin down about 6-7inches caught a small glint of silver so cautiously moved dirt by hand. Im like ok rang like a half looks more a dollar than I seen it was way to thin to be a coin, luckily the dirt was semi sandy and super dry so taking it out was easy. I was amazed what I saw. Never seen anything like this and it was in fantastic condition. Still trying to figure the age, but definitely by the craftsmanship it is one of my best finds ever. Rest of the day found more wheats, foreign coin, toy gun and more costume jewelry. Best thing about the hunt I still have about 30% still left to hunt.

You are completely out of control RayRay !!! That Aztec calendar piece is Awesome ! I'm guessing 50's or 60's obviously made in the Taxco
region of Mexico - Great finds amigo !

great day of hunting for sure! Looks hot out there.

Thanks msbeep. Usually my silver comes out looking so bad I think the dry sand where I dug helped preserve it alot. Gonna clean it up right tonight. Still unsure of age or who made it?

Awesome find! The whole hunt was amazing tho if you ask me :) great post!!!!

Nice haul! I thought it was dollar size until I saw it next to Ben. Dang!
Looks like triple digit temps from here on out, so I may have to get up early like you! Going after work is getting brutal.

RayRay , I just got my pin/pendant out to look at it it's almost identical to yours -Mine is almost exactly 2" in diameter - and it has the
sterling and 925 designation on the back - mine also has the bell shaped device with the number in it - this is I think a stylized eagle or
thunderbird motif - notice in yours there is a number- 28 I think -mine has 190 in it, these I believe are production numbers or work shop
numbers . I'm very confident they are mid twentieth century - 50's thru 70's and very likely made in Taxco - the most notable silver
producing region/ area in Mexico . If you do a bit of online research for hallmarks on Mexican silver jewelry - you can be more confident
of the date of production - yours , like mine is also a pin /pendant - very cool find ! I will put up pics when I get the equipment and the
understanding of how to do this .
