Great site. Been spending a lot of time reading the <beach and shallow water> threads.
Ended up here via R Adams in Miami on youtube. (Don't know him...just been watching a lot of different detectorist's videos)

I live near the beach in Pinellas County (Gulf Coast of FL) and had a White's detector many years ago, 15? 20?, (can't remember the model) but haven't done any detecting since so I'm trying to cull a list of possible new machines for the saltwater, mainly in the water.

Anyway, lots of helpful information here.

I'm guessing HH means Happy Hunting? so HH.

Welcome Aboard Jim! Take a look at Sub-Forums: Florida for information (i.e., clubs, etc.) directly related to your state.

Hello from Colorful Colorado and welcome to TN. HH

Welcome aboard ! Yep, ive seen adams videos on u tube, he gets some nice finds and some great scenery to 8-), if you know what I mean :icon_thumleft:

Thanks vp, engine.

CO, my sister lives just outside of Denver...will have to get back out there for some hunting.

Tom, sure do.

Since I don't have a new detector yet went out and found some geocaches today. Found a banged up Wm. Rogers and son stainless spoon in the process.

Welcome aboard TNet! I don't get to do it as often as I would like, but I absolutely love saltwater hunting. There are a number of good saltwater machines these days. I use the Fisher CZ20 (the newer version is the CZ21). HH - Happy Hunting!

Thanks Captain. There is a CZ-21 for sale on craigslist I've been eyeing. It looks to be in good shape and he's asking $700 for it which is a good price for me but I'm a little leery buying a used submersible machine.

For what it's worth, I bought mine used at a pawn shop while on vacation back in June. Maybe you could work something out with the guy to let you test it in the water first. Maybe both of you go for the test. Good Luck with whatever you decide.

Hello From sunny south Florida! Live on the beach in palm beach....just got my Excalibur 2 yesterday ...any beach tips will help...just started this week. Thanks [email protected]

Thanks Bandit.

Nice Angelo, if I can get my hands on a good used one I may end up with an excal myself.
I find a lot of good useful tips here and all the beach detector vids on Youtube.

Hiya Jk!

I'm in Clearwater so we're practically neighbors! If you're ever interested in a search partner, let me know! I haven't been out a lot but I think detectoring together might be more fun than going it alone.

Let me know if you're interested. I recently joined the Suncoast Search & Rescue metal detector club. They are a great club who do a lot of fun events, many for charity. Might be worth a look if you're looking for people of like minds.

Either way, welcome to the board!

Hey Clad, I've visited the SS&R site a couple of times. Looks like they do some hunts out at Fort DeSoto. Once I get a machine and get comfortable using it we'll have to meet up. I'm down near Indian Rocks.
