A friend of a friend has found a clovis point that is said to be made out of asian material (I think grey in color) but it was found in Oklahoma. Local experts say this is a very rare type.

This owner is said to be very nervous and unsure on how to go about selling it.
He has been negotiating with 2 people but he would like to gain more attention than just 2 people and be certain he won't be ripped off. The last offer I heard was 14K for this un-papered point.

What would you do?

I recently held a 8"+ clovis from Kentucky, that was authentic (I think it is important to state that it was 100% authentic). it was quite possibly the single most expensive artifact I have ever touched. I really couldn't fathom a price, but I would guess 100k+ (I maybe way to low). I have only seen a couple that would compare to it in books and magazines. If the piece in this thread is what they say it is then it would be in the same class with the other big dogs...essentially priceless!!

I'm from Oklahoma too, at least since the government moved us here. We don't really subscribe to the belief that one day the water was low and we decided to wade across and see if the fishing was better over there.
For what it's worth, I had the good fortune to know and talk with a Susquehannock who had been through the seven lodges with seven rooms. According to his ancestral history, his people had originally come here, across the water, from the east.

Among other things, he corrected my pronunciation of "Essenes." Long "E."
