Hello the pro !!!

I just bought a green round garden sieve 14 inch, and I just realised the inner tube (I will buy) has a brass valve, witch is not good if I want to test with my Excal, the result of my dig..... :laughing7:

So, for those one's who have a sifter with inner tube, how are you doing ? It exists with plastic valve ? :icon_scratch:

POSSITION THE VALVE - on top and just run coil underneath - or visa versa
once you got item in it.. it should ring off louder than the valve would or if sifter is working properly
you should be able to see item 9 out of 10 times unless you got a BB or maybe .22 shell
my sifter is steel wire mesh - 2 sided - one side is like 1/4 in. squares - the other like 1/16
so if I know I got a small target it goes on one side - larger signals the other
some guys attatch a Garrett carot pinpointer to their sifters if they got small stuff a lot
instead of lifting coil constantly

Or use pool noodles/some kind of foam for flotation.

Or an all plastic pool tube. No metal.

Here is what I use. No Metal Anywhere in It! The first set of pool noodles are on a 3/4 inch plastic pipe frame to keep it rigid. The other 2 sets of noodles have a 6 inch piece of 3/4 pipe at each joint to keep the ends aligned. I added the blue noodles recently to keep the screen above the water. The screen is nylon? screen that is used to shade greenhouses. I have a piece of sting attached to the sifter with my AT Propointer attached and another string about 5 feet long that hooks the sifter to me. The site that we have been hunting lately has a clam shell and mud bottom. You scoop the target, dump it in the sifter, turn on pinpointer and run it back and forth in the mess until you find the magical, mystical PULLTAB for the 50th time today.IMG_0951.JPGIMG_0951.JPGIMG_0949.JPG

This is the best how to video for making a pool noodle sifter. I made a square one and an octagon.

I never leave home with out at least one of them. They are so strong that I rest my big stainless steel waterscoop on them and drag it behind me when I need the scoop I just pull on the mule tape and it floats to me.

Hope you enjoy it as well.

Cheers :occasion14:

Waterscoop

The pool noodle works great as flotation on a sifter, my kids use them to find sharks teeth.

Thanks everyone for your answer.
I have already made a sifter with pool noodle, but I wanted a round one, with inner tube without metal.... anyway, I will go back to the noodle.... but bigger....

Here is one I made for .75 cents, only purchased zip ties as the rest came from our towns landfill.ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1510933845.642633.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1510933924.165584.jpg
