Here's my 2 cents ,look on old ,old city maps and look for 2 pickaxes, crossed over each other, like an X.
these usual tell that there is a mine nearby. :icon_scratch:

The old Spanish map that I found of their territory in the US simply used a dot and labeled it "silver mine". The crossed pix / shovels are the standard symbol on governmental topos and are usually used to show where OPEN PIT type mining is being done.

That is STILL a good thing to look for, Produce Guy, because many times those old opened pit areas had camps for their workers, back in the older times.

Hello Springfield, I really enjoyed viewing your pictures. I think you are a rare breed, there really are not many people left, soon all that will be left are peoples notes and books to help guide others.I hope you don't mind that I share something.all the ones I located are still sealed.if I didn't take the photos I would have never been able to see most of the markings.the last markings I found on the peralta map were the Xs and the google lines.I swear I must have looked at two of my pictures at least 50 times, buryed them away and then went back to look at them to find the markings.there are no tailings or anything unnatural looking, only the markings large and small.I have a fish that is about 25' high, a face that is also the same height.one day I will publish everything.kenworthy gave good markings but most in drawings.I have the same markings in pictures.one of my favorite is the shadow horse head with the reins.im going to dig that one out and post for yous this week.
Have you ever noticed that others don't share pictures, everyone is lucky that you share your knowledge.
