the shape of the name plate is very much like the early case knives.if the handle is a hard plastic(bakolite),prolly 20s or 30s...heat up a pin and gently push into handle.if it goes in at all prolly early plastic...plus you can smell it.

Ahhhhh...

Since the quotation didn't work let me spell it out for ya-

How - did - you - find - out - the - knife - was - made - in - Atlanta -, Ga.- in - 1856 - at - King's - Hardware?

That is a very specific answer that requires a specific explanation... ya think? :icon_scratch:

Easssssssssy buddy, chillllllllll out damn just playing around, I'm new at this and glad u spelled it out so I can let u know, blade very rusty a wire brush with elbow grease cleaned as much as poss well after cleaned on the blades itself it has king hardware Atlanta engraved in it. I then pulled it up on net and found out all about it. Look it up and read was pretty cool history.

That wasn't so hard now was it?

BTW- I'm always chill. Until i'm given a reason not to be, such as being talked down to or ridiculed. :laughing7: Also King Hardware did not actually make knives, they had knives made for them by other companies, their name was included on the tang. This was a common practice for wholesalers. Does it include the maker's name on one side also? I don't think this knife dates to 1856. The handles look like celluloid and that wasn't commercially available (widespread) until at least the 1870's. I would date your knife to the 1920's by the looks of it. But that's just my opinion so...
