How old is this thing????? Is it a ploughshare?????

Hello,
I am still a beginner and dug up this item in a field in Eastern Ontario, Canada......
I think it is a ploughshare. I was wondering if it is from the horse-drawn time or the tractor time. Also I have no idea what the marking FF 8 inches, 5, the circle with the "D" stand for. I hope it is quite old :-).
Any input is much appreciated !!!!!!!

rough idea ,its a plow tip, or off a planter , 1940? a farmer will have a better idea

Not nearly heavy enough to be a plow, but it does look like a cultivator tip.

Cultivator tip. Note the squared hole to keep the piece from turning from the shaft as it turns soil.
