How often does Barber's or Seated's or V-Nickels pop up in CRH?

I'm just wondering. I remember reading a while back that someone found a barber half in a $1,000 bag. How many have you found?

Then again i've only been doing this around 4 months

I've got 2 Barber halves, a 1906-O and a 1907, both found in hand rolls at the same time (summer of 1999). Also have (3) V nickels, two found in CWI boxes and 1 found in a coin counter hopper. 1897, 1902 and 1912D.

My stats show that you should pull 1 Barber for every $250,000 in halves searched. I was surprised to see that my numbers were pretty close to coinmojo's if he means 5 from 3 million halves (1.5 million dollars).

I have been coin roll hunting for about 10 months and have found 2 Barbers. A 1906 and a 1907. Plenty of Walkers and Bens. As for Seated I think I have seen one person on this forum pull out a worn seated half but that was a while ago. That is the mother find if you ask me and very very hard to find. You just never know what you are going to find out there.

Actually there have been at least one Capped Bust half (maybe 2 I can't remember) found as well....which are older than the Seated.

You're right and they were both dated 1838. It think Thurm was one of the lucky discoverers.

I have found 1890 barber nickel and 1914 barber dime
