How often does Barber's or Seated's or V-Nickels pop up in CRH?

I'm just wondering. I remember reading a while back that someone found a barber half in a $1,000 bag. How many have you found?

I have personally found zero of each barber and seated.

I do have a goal to get a barber from hunting, but I do not have a goal to get a seated from it, because I feel that is being a bit too ambitious. =)

Honestly, it blows my mind that Franklin's are still out there let alone anything older. It just seems like if anybody seen it, they would save it and not turn it into the bank. But hey, that's just me...

One day I asked if the bank had halves. The teller said she had 2, which I bought. Ended up paying $1 for a 1964 and 1945s. Didn't even ahve to hunt a box for it . Someone had turned them in very recently, as I check this bank 1-2 times a week.

In 2 1/2 years I've found 1 Barber Half and 1 Barber dime, both in machine rolls from sealed boxes.

To answer your question....not often enough..

Still have yet to find a Silver Barber anything, though I have found a few V-Nickels which were also designed by Barber.

1 Barber half and 6 Barber dimes from sealed String and son wrapped, this year.

I have actually found 4 Barber Halves this year, all from searching sealed boxes. With those odds it will probably be awhile until I find another.

I found a Barber half late last year. I spent half of this year going through $20K/week and the rest $10K/week and have yet to find another. A seated would be nice but I'm secretly looking for whatever gold coin would fit in a half dollar roll- the search continues.

One barber half in about 12 years searching, and about 6 V nickels.

I got 2 barber halfs and an 1893 Columbian Expo Half from a $1,000 bag about 2 months ago. I also got a barber quarter from the same bank but it was in the reject bin. These were my first barber coins and 3rd columbian expo half.

One Barber half (1906-O), one Barber quarter (1908-D) and three "Barber" nickels (1899, 1906, 1912).

Thirteen Barbers and one Seated including two last month. If you're a Plugger like I am you will find one. Just don't give up.

I have been lucky enough to find 2 Barbers since the beginning of the year I pick 4 boxes a week .... always looking for the next one ,HH Ed

In 3 years I have found 2 Barbers out of about 200,000 coins searched. One in October 2008, and one in December 2006.

I doubt I will ever find a seated, but who knows? How do 104 year old coins get in boxes?

In ten months of coin roll hunting I've found one barber dime, a 1914-D. However, I was extremely lucky during my first couple of months of CRH. I walked into a bank and asked if they had any half dollars. The teller went to the vault and came back with just a bit over three hundred dollars worth of fed rolls. I took them and drove off to a nice secluded spot to go through them. Wasn't expecting much but managed to pull some good silver out of it. Lots of 90's...Kennedys and Franklins. About halfway through the rolls I opened one up and saw the distinct shine of a 90. The reeds on the edge of the coin were almost totally worn down so I figured it may be an early date Walker. I almost fell out of my seat when I saw the date. 1858-O!!! A freaking Seated Liberty!!! Minted in New Orleans! Unbelievable. That coin is my best find. Doubt I'll ever top that.

A month or so later the Mrs. and I were going through a few boxes when she looked at me and said, "I've never seen one like this." That got my interest! I looked over at the coin in her hand and realized she'd found our first Barber! It was a 1905-S.

I've never found another Barber and I seriously doubt I'll ever find another Seated Liberty but hey...one of each is good enough for my little stash.

I have been coin roll hunting for about 10 months and have found 2 Barbers. A 1906 and a 1907. Plenty of Walkers and Bens. As for Seated I think I have seen one person on this forum pull out a worn seated half but that was a while ago. That is the mother find if you ask me and very very hard to find. You just never know what you are going to find out there.
