Here are a few guns and weapons etc. I have dug:
This is a WWI bayonet made by Wilkerson Sword, it has several date stamps starting around 1914 and going through 1921. The scabbard had rotted away just leaving the throat. I had to soak it in WD-40 for quite awhile before it came loose, but it protected the markings and date stamps on the blade. The pistol is a .22 that I found under a rose bush in the yard of an old house.
next up is a 1918 Springfield double barrel 12 gauge shot gun. I found this one where an old farm house stood. They moved the house and I was clearing all the metal junk from the area to hunt for coins that may had fallen through the floor boards when I found it. At first I only saw the barrel and thought it was a piece of water pipe until I pulled it out of the ground and saw the double barrels lol!! The fact it was under the house in the dry dirt kept it in pretty good shape. I think it could possibly be restored, but I wouldn't want to pull the triggers lol!!
Finally here is a S&W model 2 boot pistol I recoverd from a Civil War trench that was part of the outer confederate defense lines protecting Atlanta. I have also found a similar Iron pistol frame from a site used by Confederate calvary, but I don't have a picture of it yet.
