How everyone's Memorial Day weekend gold Coming Along??

So I didn't go out the last few days as I gimped my toe up..But today my Brother and I went out though I was a slow walker..But the Gold was great..Really couldn't make up my mind what I wanted to do so I ended up throwing in the sluice and cracking/panning...Kinda of an odd day as I never really committed to any one kind of digging but the day's total was awesome..My brother and his hobbit feet did well too.

So how is everyone else's prospecting goning this weekend??

I just KNEW it was no good clicking on your videos. I'm goin crazy at home, with you and hobbit feet out there getting gold and playing with beautiful bull
snakes! Hope your toe heals quickly (always wear foot protection - it's a long hike back) "Thank you Captain Obvious":BangHead:

P.S. Do you take time to wash the moss?

Haha don't feel bad I'm living vicariously through MadMarshalls posts and other posters as I wait for my health to catch up to my gold fever.

So far so good. Running beach sand in Washington

ah the cube in its natural habitat eating the black sand like a champ and leaving goooold.

Haven't been out yet this weekend but I'm going somewhere special tomorrow ;). A little exploration trip. A place that nobody has been to in a long time. I'll make a post if it goes well..

I took my dad to East Fork San Gabriel River for about 8 hours. Came home and relaxed with the lady. Popped a pork butt in the smoker about an hour ago for some BBQ tomorrow. Now, I'm sipping a glad of scotch.

I figure I'll have time to clean the cons before the BBQ tomorrow with some beer and a cigar.

Not a bad weekend so far. :)

Spent yesterday digging a hole in a creek the size of a Volkswagen and got about three flakes lol. Beautiful weather though, just getting out in the mountain air was worth it. finding gold is just icing on the cake. Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend. Find some chunkers!

I'm working this weekend. I was going to hit the river this week, but it's WAY up right now. Normal is about 3 ft. 5 days ago it was running at 30 ft. Down to 10 now, but the upstream dams began releasing so it will stay at 10 for the next week.

Being new to prospecting I never realized how much working in high water sucks lol. I feel your pain. This year has been the best rain in years and for me it's a new thing to realize and understand. My buddies will ask me if I'm going up the mountain this weekend and I'll say the creeks are up can't get much done with the water moving so fast. I guess that's good for moving gold though so I'll be patient.

We just got back from family camping 2 nights in a area I just wanted to test. Mainly camping to test the area and test some gear for my overnight pack / prospecting kit before I hit some trails alone. It was a good time. It also allows me to mark off a spot on my Google Earth Map as no gold.

Actually, we're laying low. Our Explorer is in the shop for a newer transfer case...should get it back today.
The weather was great yesterday...soaked up some sun,BBQ, beer. 8-) BUT, rained all last night. Off and on rain predicted thru Mon.
There will be hundreds of people getting, losing, finding spots on the river Fri-Mon.
But best of all...come Tuesday I'm taking the MD to all those spots to collect what was lost.:headbang:

A good thing about being retired, already living out in a RV, is on holidays you can amuse yourself watching all the newbies scrambling around, making
mistakes - its cheap entertainment!!

It was my father in laws bday yesterday and celebrating my sisters bday today so lots of BBQ and beer, gonna hit the creek solo tomorrow for a few hours.

I just got back from a trip up to Thermal City today to sluice and pan. Did well! Will post a video of it later. Also will watch your videos and like & comment at youtube. Met lots of great folks up there too since they were doing the common dig.
