Do any of you guys document your collections?
Since I've begun coin collecting I have kept my collection in a loose leaf folder to hold the 2X2 flippies and a couple of Dansco folders. After a while I thought it might be a neat idea to document the collection in a MS Excel spreadsheet. Well, one thing led to another and after I had gotten everything accounted for on the spreadsheet I thought, "wouldn't it be cool to to have links to pictures of the coins?" So, with my scanner, I made .jpgs of most of the coins and figured out how to make a link to each one. Well then, one evening while sipping adult beverages, I thought, MS Excel allows you to save the whole thing in an .htm file. Why not move it to my web space? SO I DID!
It's a humble collection but I invite you all to view it at: http://p.briggs.home.comcast.net/~p.briggs/SPREADSHEET/COINS.htm . The collection, of course, is always subject to change.
Use the tabs at the bottom of the page to view the different denominations. The underlined coins have a link to their respective picture.
Any and all comments will be sincerely appreciated.

Very nice idea. I have been considering doing the same thing but just not sure how to accomplish it.
I really like your silver Eagle collection.
Keep up the good work,

Mine goes in a Mason jar .. or under the table in the greenhouse. Once I put an arrow in a plastic bag and labeled it, but I forget where it is. I think there's a couple of 5-gallon buckets out back with some chains and plow shares in them. Ooops, nope. The plow share is in the tree. Now I remember... I gave a bunch of bottles away to my friends so they could store their homemade beer in them, and some of the other stuff went to the crusher for Christmas money. I just never seem to accumulate anything. :(
