How do I stop the Google ads from appearing on T-net on my screen?

Great, thanks for all the helpful suggestions!

If you use a Mac and Safari, you can download a small app which block ALL ads. The drawback is it takes a few extra seconds to complete a page.

I use Adblock plus. I had no idea there were ads here.

I use Firefox and have McAfee for security, and I get nothing in that space. I don't know why or how,
but most other popups are also blocked, and I think it was/is done through McAfee.

I used to have McAfee & there was a setting "Block adds" I tried, but it also Blocked the Banner
so I couldn't use it.

Jeff, when you say "Banner", you mean the banner finds pictures below the menu, right?

With Ghostery, I see the banner.

I use AVG Free for virus protection and Zone Alarm, the free version for a firewall. These have kept the viruses at bay. I also don't do "unsafe" surfing, no porn, warez, or that kind of stuff. I also do not install a lot of software, just the basics - no pretty stuff. My Mom is 87, and she installs every cute thing that comes along - it only takes a month or so until her computer is completely unusable. Then we have to re-format it and install everything all over again. She won't learn, but she's earned her 87 years.....

Google Ad Block Plus....works great...here, FB or wherever....

Call them... Don't you have them on speed dial ? Seriously though. I dumped Winduhs and IE and I get NO advertisments on any sites I go to. I have no anti virus program or anti spyware programs installed that slow things down while pretending to "protect" you, and I don't have any complaints. I use Ubuntu which is a form of Linux and I have Google Chrome and Firefox as broswers depending on what I'm doing. If you insist on keeping the same old disease ridden junk that Microsoft puts out then expect to have to deal with garbage.

I still use windows and I do not use any anti virus etc anti spyware etc nor have had any problems with my comp for years.I havent seen adds anywhere for years also NHB LOL .I know you'll agree, maybe someday people will learn how to use the equipment they buy properly instead of thinking they know how to use it.

yes the finds banner and i use AVG Free also

I run Spybot & MalwareBytes as extra cautions when ever I'm in the mood

also Clean my cash too often (Several times a day) simply because I'm addicted to research
So if I don't delete cookies after every Research trip, I'd feel unprotected.
even though it is extremely rare I hit a sight AVG refuses to let me in

Learn how to use the equip. properly? So the fact that Ads pop up mean that a person doesn't know how to use a computer?

Are you still running Windows 95?

No,the fact that people dont know how to stop the ads means they dont know how to use it.The fact that people still use anti virus and anti spyware and anti this and anti that means they dont know how to use it.The fact that if something goes wrong with their comp they go running out to get it fixed or blow their money buying a new one.where as if they took a little time to learn they would be able to fix it themselves for a quarter of what it would cost them at a repair shop or the price of a new one.Windows 95? :sign10: nope guess again.
