My present policy with CIGNA, went from $9500 to $12,200 per year, with deductibles going from $800/yr to 1800/ yr. Vt. with the new exchange may be a better deal, IF theynstand behind their Quotations and get their sites working....CGI, same company that runs ACA!

Will be interesting a year or two down the road what happens. Our Progressive Gov. wants single-payer/universal coverage for all, The cost for VT will be 1.6 TRILLION.....2x all the taxes ( excepting the property tax, which pays for Ed) collected in the State, and has proposed a 18% payroll tax ! We already have per-capita the highest taxes around, and already Company's are leaving the State. And they say this is best for all?.......gary

Both my employer and BC/BS sent me letters stating my insurance wouldn't be changing, and my rates would be unchanged. And that is what has happened. The ACA was never intended to apply to people who already had insurance that met the minimum requirements.

Uncle Matt, the employer mandate is one year away. Your plan, unless it offered Uncle Matt maternity coverage all along will be dropped at the end of 2014.

Don't say BC/BS hasn't and won't go up. I actually sign the check for our insurance each month at work. Our rates have increased about 60% ... went back and rechecked the numbers and although it seemed the costs had doubled, they had only increased by ~60%. I also received a letter from BC/BS but it did not say our rates would remain the same. Quite the contrary.

Recheck your facts and get back to us on this.

You can't sign up even if you wanted to and I'm guessing the program will be dead before they get the software up and running.

I do believe the second part of your statement is true, but the harm will already be done to many of us who are going to be left without employer provided insurance, many on medicaid will be without coverage for an extended period of time as a result.

As for signing up, I'm up to 28 hours online, 18 hours on the phone. The can't fix the ap (my application is partially completed, but it keeps marrying my wife to my wife ... go figure ... won't allow me to keep her listed as my spouse). I spent time with the local BC/BS rep (only option in SE Arkansas. Chose my plan, but cannot pay for it until I get registered. Can't get registered because the site is down.

They keep offering to let me do a paper application. They'll start looking at them some time in December ... no thanks.

I have a feeling that a concentrated hacker attack will help get the job done and the new republican President will finish it. Lucifercare, TH you're killing me...

It is already happening according to one of the marketplace reps I spoke with, but I'll still be out in the cold with no insurance of any kind.
