Yesterday I took my push mower with me detecting. The edge of the field where I recently found a barber half was very hard to detect. Spent about half an hour mowing so I could do a better job detecting. Spent about 2 hours detecting for a couple overall buttons. Wife says I am crazy. Have also taken a bobcat to the woods to level out a hump of dirt at a homesite. Do I have issues? Anyone else have stories about how far you have gone to get to dirt fishing?

Well let me see . I have Taken a tractor with a belly mower on it and mowed detecting areas. Used the front bucket to clean areas of trash and dirt so we could detect the place. I did buy a DR Pro walk behind 32 inch brush hog to clean areas to detect. But let me add this it is a lot easier if you have these items to work on my horse farm . If you have these items already and trailers to haul them it is not a big issue to take them there. My detecting buddy E-Trac- Ohio can vouch for me

Your doing fine... Use whatever you believe you need to help you "see".

Personally I still use my pet armadillo.... Andy. He's quite the little digger....!
I don’t have a pet armadillo but when I go to my sites after a day without my wife she accuses me of not covering the holes. The armadillos dig out most of the holes I cover

Just really glad I’m not the only one

I've used a 6 foot bush hog to mow the wild grass in our field at the site of an early 1800s homestead several times before detecting there. We have skunks that dig up filled MDing holes but not armadillos. One species is enough!

Seems like normal to me!

In Maryborough Victoria about 15 yrs ago the forestry, Parks guys were baffled trying to catch someone who was illegally pushing areas in the Havelock area clearing vegetation to detect with a bobcat. This went on for months until the culprit was caught. He was camping right under their noses and working by night. They must have driven past him and spoken to him a dozen times. He had gutted out a caravan and made the rear end a folding down ramp disguised as just the rear section looking all in tact. Inside was the bobcat.
