Funny that you mention that. Years ago, when I was a youngster, we hunted deer etc with an old shotgun and slugs. For some reason, it was common practice to cut an "X" into the end of the bullet. I think it was supposed to expand more on impact, as if that was necessary with a shotgun slug! Those things pretty much took down anything that got in their way!I was told that the soldiers would bite bullets sometimes to give it a tumbling effect so that when it made impact it would do more damage. May be a possibility, I dunno lol just what I was told

It's not a Nehi. The iconic Nehi had a herringbone, or rope design. No daisies, or woven panels.
For the life of me, I cannot decipher the base embossing. What does that say?
It does appear to be a late 1920's Deco soda design. Is there anything embossed on the heel?
