After finding my 5th Hot Wheels car yesterday (a Dodge Viper) in less than 5 months........I got to thinking just how many some of you 'old timers' must have in your collection. I thought maybe a Hot Wheels display contest would be fun with a spectacular grand prize of bragging rights would go to the person with the most cars.

It may be lame, but, it may be a lot of fun, what dya say? Although, embarassing, I'll post mine first:

I know some of you have large numbers of them!!

Dont feel bad went to one house that was local. All 5 of us found 25 hot wheels so we just gave them all to my son.

Why are you embarrassed?

That's cool!

I have some from the last few months or so I have found. I give more away to the kids here at Ed. Center than I keep I'd say.

Neil, thanks for the tip on the other thread! Although it was from 2006, there were a LOT of cars posted! If I had already found 5, I knew some of you 'experienced' folks would have a number of them. I guess this wasn't such a lame idea afterall.......personally, I loving all these pics, especially, the really old ones.

Thanks to all contributing..... :notworthy: Let's see some more!!

P.S. Indy, that is a very nice website you have ( http://trashandtreasure.weebly.com/cars.html )....I read, with great interest, every page!!

Nice cars ! Usually if I find a newer one I'll leave it behind for some kid to find, here's some that I did kept, I just throw them in a container in the garage without cleaning them. My favorite find is the yellow red-line "Boss" I found near a school (stamped "74" on bottom). I did read where people do restore them if it's worth it. The last pic are nonfinds and some I had a long time.

Hi TommNJ

I think that you may have an original 16 car in your collection.

If you look in the photo, 2nd from the bottom, and look at the purple car in the upper left hand corner, I do believe that you have an original Mattel 1968 Deora "surfers truck".

I might be wrong but if it is it might be worth something to you.

Cheers,

Ralph

Thanks for the heads-up Ralph. I looked at it a little closer it says 1967 on the bottom but as you can see it's in rough shape. You never know, I'll give it a bath and put it aside. :icon_thumright:

:icon_thumleft: Hey TommNJ I scoped in on the Deora too , but I figured you collected un dug . Good eyel Ralph :) ! First 16 were the best with the candy paint , red line tires , and tinted blue windshields . I have to find my dug HW's :icon_scratch: Very Kool Thread and the Woodland Detector Original vid is extremely enjoyable . Thanks 4H  I still like these little cars , just never too old for hot rods and custom cars ...real ones or toys !! 8) 8) dawg

I hear you dawg ! Maybe digging up the old ones bring back memories. Unfortunately in my younger days I raced them down tracks and bent the wheels down to make them look jacked up. Big bucks to collect the old mint ones , I'll look at them online sometime to droll, I love to see them still in the blister pack with the button. :icon_thumright:

I saw the 'surfer' truck right off, also! There may be another original in the upper left corner of your first pic.....it looks like the "Hot Hawg" or something similar, toward the end of the YouTube video. Looks like you may have some real classics on your hands! Too bad the surf boards are missing from the truck.

Like the one back in 2006, this is a fun thread......I'm really enjoying the pics and stories! :icon_thumleft:

I think weve all found hot wheels at some point.red lines are always sweet.I still buy hot wheels new,at about 2200 new and used plus dug specs.......thanks K.KID.

 WOW!!!...what a collection you have there.

here is just a few cars i have left,my neighbors kid comes over and pics thru them...i built this shelve for them sop they would not end up in a bucket in the garage...

Nice collection and display rack mud dog! :icon_thumright:

spitfire55,
A lot of nice collections here, thanks !

K. KID,
WOW ! That's a lot of Hot Wheels, cool !

Roland58,
The one on the back left has 1988 on the bottom, I think they call it "T-Bucket"

Finding the old Redline Hotwheels is cool. THose little cars are worth big money these days in good to mint condition. No telling how many thousands of dollars I blew up with firecrackers when I was little in the 60's.... :-[
