We met yesterday with a few hunting buddies in a wooded area near the rhine. You can expect everything from roman to modern there. And this day was a good one! Some of us went downhill into a valley which had seen lots of roman activity, but four of us decided to stay on top near an old road. We started with a few musketballs, but we got more and more over the whole area. Looks like a 1800s skirmish there. We ended with 10 to 20 bullets each, but no regiment buttons . We had a few nails, a roman circular mount, crotal bell and some coins as we worked up the hill. The highest point of the hill was littered with WWII crap, but i managed between tent buttons, casings, a pack of razorblades and a pioneer axe the best find of the day. A beautiful gold plated brass spur dated 12th-13th century . The two buttons i found may be around 1600. The coins are 1800.
Im pretty sure that we go back to this place soon as our fields are all planted....
