homemade dredge nozzle

I forgot I had a tube bender at work. So I whipped together a steel nozzle too. The jet is a 1/2" I. D. And 1/2" long. Pay no attention to my booger welds, my first time ever tig welding

Better........... but for greater efficiency the aim of the jet needs to be able to shoot straight down the middle of the intake hose and not hit the intake nozzle at an angle like my red arrow shows.

Needs to be like this one .....

The jet itself is inside is welded upwards at a slight angle. It won't hit any of the nozzle

Sorry, I just couldn't see how the spray could shoot straight down the hose past the curve in the nozzle.

Now I'm seriously not any kind of a expert on dredge nozzles but am in the market to build a DIY myself. The only problem I can see with your last design is. When you say the jet does line with the center I'm just assuming it turns after it enters the 1-1/2". If I'm correct this could end up being a terrible restriction in diameter and a difficult place to try to dislodge a blockage. I hope to steal from your PVC design and include a universal coupler before the jet to allow experimenting with size. Any thoughts anyone?
