I have now used my do it yourself fluid bed three times. I used a lot of goody guy's
information to make my fluid bed. However I did put a 9 inch long inspection mat
at the beginning of sluice. This mat catches small gold. Any larger gold drops into
the trap. The trap is below the level of the top of the sluice. It is covered by one half
inch expanded metal. The water flows over the expanded metal ,which is flat, and drops
the heavies. I did a clean up today of yesterday's concentrates. I recovered a lot of
gold so small that I needed a magnifying glass to see it. It was really small. I can
feed this sluice with a shovel with no problems.
