I planned on going detecting today..wonder if it shook the soil loose for some easier digging? Don't know, never been in an earthquake...but hell...its Oklahoma....there's not supposed to be earthquakes here. Wow......what a shock!!
Harder har har....GET IT?? shock....like..AFTER SHOCK!?!....lol....srry...couldn't help myself. Maybe that earthquake shook some brain cells out of me....not that I had many to spare...anyway...Happy Sunday hunting!

@snake....thank you!! Yeah, it was terrible. I cried for about 30 minutes....at least tornados have warnings...ugh...scary!

I saw that on the news but earthquakes don't bother me. I think it's because every time the train across the river about 2 miles away goes by at night it's like I dropped another coin in the bed box at the motel. Actually, I'm the kind of guy that drives 150 miles Through a hurricane to get to the beach to be first to"clean it up". so as Elvis said A hole lot of shaking going on, doesn't bother me. Frank

Nope did not feel a thing today. But I am a long way off. I am in Ohio. We did have a earthquake here in Ohio over a month ago. I was planing on go out detecting today but I shot a 4 point buck that I had to track. Findley found him and by the time I got home and had him hanging it was after 1. So I stay home an rested. Here is a pic of my granddaughter with the deer. If you got out detecting I hope you did good....Matt

You're so funny Frank! @ Matt....good kill!! I saw a buck yesterday while out detecting that had the biggest rack....it was really pretty. My dad use to make knive handles out of deer horns...they were neat!

I live in Springdale, AR. My tv was rocking back and forth. It was INSANE. I think our earthquake, strangely enough, wasn't even associated with the big OK quake. We have been getting a lot of small "aftershock" type earthquakes over the past couple of years. They seem to be increasing and getting more powerful. I have heard its because of all the fracking they are doing in Central AR. Very strange.

All I can think about is the rapture....

Hey iCandy, do you mean like Blondies "Rapture". My big brother lives in Drumwright about 30 miles from the epicenter he thought it was neat but strange. He used to live in Stroud actually lived right across the freeway from that mall that got wiped off the face of the map by an F-4 tornado about 6 or 8 years ago. The Plumber.

I agree with you Adrian. It's the end of times! Glad you survived the quake ok. Turned on Fox news a few minutes ago and saw a huge tornado going through your state. Ya'll are really catching it up there this week.

I think the fracturing process used by the oil companies has a lot to do with the recent outbreak of earthquakes. The shock wave they set off has an effect on plate friction in areas where fractures in the plates have been dormant a long time.
As for the tornados, remember the song. Oklahoma, where the wind goes sweeping down the range. At least the dust bowl has settled. Frank

The only time I knew a lil baby earthquake had occured here in Hoosier land was the rattling of my Newton's Cradle.

Frank, cmon! You're a smart man.....you know better than that! It was even felt as far as Wisconsin. No man made tool can even begin to contribute to what I, along with millions of others felt! Only God can move mountains!!!!

Adrian, The plates of the earth are held together by friction. The plates have tremendous pressure applied to them. The edges are rough along the fault lines not unlike a saw blade. The fracture process, when applied near these fault lines actually breaks off some "teeth". This applies more pressure to the rest of the "teeth" resulting in a small shift in the plates. That's your earthquake. Geology 101 Frank
Remember he works in mysterious ways!

Frank, if I had to challenge you in debate class....I'd be screwed...lol! You turkey!!

Adrian, Ben Franklin wanted the turkey to be the symbol of this country because he is such a smart bird. lol Frank
