I’m glad I had a vest in my auto it was a crispy 28 this morning. Water was still high but just cause you can’t see them doesn’t mean they aren’t there just have to keep looking. Took almost 5 hours just to find the one whole point. The flake blade was enjoying to find cause it’s whole. The broken ones were sad to find but I will put them in a frame. I believe the black base is made into a hafted scraper so it’s okay cause I don’t find many in that style. I did find some other scrapers and pieces. Found a bunch of larger debitage pieces but left them. Found a crude quartzite hand chopper but left it to. Just don’t have the room for everything. But overall it was a good day and the one whole point has stripes on it but will probably dry solid black. Get out there and find something.

I find the animal teeth all the time. If nobody is interested in seeing them I can leave them out for now on? They’re cow I believe

Looks like a fun day with nice finds.
I should have taken a picture of the large claw marks I saw on a tree about 5 feet off the ground. It’s either bear or big cat. I got a glimpse of something brown out there my last good hunt but not enough to know what it was. We do have big cats even though the DNR says we don’t. Ive seen a mountain lion further north to close for comfort a few years back.

Man that had to have been cold but looks like it was well worth it. Yeah if the DNR doesn't see it their self then it doesn't exist but they do pass through every now and then

They have a 50 mile radius for their territory. I’ve never seen any other cats than panthers and bear tracks in the local creeks. Could have been a bobcat I guess even though I’ve never seen one.

The DNR will often deny, when they actually know better. Bobcats, cougars, feral hogs and wolves, in varios states, have all been denied while the DNR was actually tracking and observing.

I’m soaking some of these I’m hoping the stripes stay

They say they there are no mountain lions left in the northeast, but one got ran over by a car in Connecticut a few years back. They said it was a lone male that travelled from the West. Up in the mountains of NH people see them reasonably frequently.

I’ve seen them on cams in my area

We have reports of mtn lions here in IL occasionally. One was killed by a train in Randolph Co near the Mississippi River. Another was caught on a trail cam along the IL River near Peoria a few yrs ago. I haven’t heard any reports about them recently. I’ve never seen one.
