All Treasure Hunting
My second ever silver and its a Trime! Dug it in the Seated field. The obverse is worn almost smooth so I couldn't get the date.
Also found my first thimble but the top fell off while cleaning. Still happy to have it.
A shotgun shell headstamp, a conical shaped piece of flat copper, a whatsit, a copper ring and something that looks like an epaulet.
All in all a great day and my first day out with my Chrismas Garrett Carrot and Vaquero.
I snapped the pic of the Trime on the Tesoro sticker for Calabash :laughing7:

WTG on the 90% silver trime. Those are much harder to find than the 75% variety

Is this a Type 2, 1853-1858?

Gopher, I was stationed for 4 years at Whiteman AFB, as First Sgt of the 351st Security Squadron, at Knob Noster, Mo. I found Indian artifacts but most interesting was the fossil leafs, tree bark, limbs, some iridescent colored in the creeks and shale strata there. I was most impressed at the permission the land owners most always gave me to search. They liked when you showed them what you found.

591st and Center MP Company, Ft. Bliss, TX here.
This property is owned by a huge realty company and leases it for farming. Lease holder is ok with detecting during off-season.
Thanks for serving.

Very nice finds Gopher! I can't believe that someone would actually out a hole in a trime...they're so tiny to start with...go figure. Congrats!

Awesome finds I never even heard of a trime till I joined tnet.... lol Way to go

Man a trime is high on my bucket list! Great find! Congrats! :icon_thumleft:

I have been blessed with having my first two silvers be an 1853 stunning Seated dime and now this! Shouldn't I be finding Rosies and Mercs first? :laughing7:

Type 2. Nice find!

Congratulations on the Trime...:occasion14:
