Third holed coin from this 1876 site, one other Canadian Large Cent, as well as a Civil War Store Token with a hole. This hole almost looks like it might have been used as a washer? Can only make out the last number of the date....9 :BangHead: A few other odds and ends Winter is coming next week.....brrrrrrr! 17123131657491.jpg17123131749121.jpg1203171333.jpg

Nice find Cooper! So I'm no expert but based on the effigy and the number 9 you have identified I'd think you have an 1859 (nicknamed the King of Canadian Varieties). In 58 and 59 Victoria has the laurel leaves in her hair and in the next strike in 1876, it's a crown.

I also think you might be right about the washer idea. That obverse has some definite circular scratching. Very interesting.

Thanks DigToChina The others had smaller holes, like they might have been worn by somebody
